Laurel Springs School provides excellence in curriculum and instruction for elementary and middle school students.
In partnership with parents, Laurel Springs School nurtures each child’s natural creativity and love of learning, setting the stage for future academic success. Over the past twenty years, Laurel Springs has provided thousands of homeschooling families with a complete elementary and middle school experience that meets their specific needs. Enrollment in Laurel Springs means comprehensive curriculum support and teacher services from a WASC-accredited school. Our parents are empowered to utilize all the resources of their home and community to enrich their children’s learning, but they are never on their own to be curriculum experts.
Our goal is to make homeschooling a wonderful experience for the entire family. We provide you with the peace of mind of a fully-accredited school with complete curriculum and qualified teachers with years of experience in distance learning. At Laurel Springs, we take your children’s interests, abilities, talents and style of learning into consideration when supporting their learning process. Our goal is to develop a program that fits each child intellectually, emotionally, and developmentally.
“When we decided to homeschool, we wanted an accredited college prep program with certified teachers. I researched many programs and Laurel Springs fit the bill for us. We were quite pleased with the placement testing prior to enrollment, which enabled our daughter to skip a grade. She no longer complains of being bored with school, and she is learning by leaps and bounds. I am a strong believer in keeping children challenged and motivated, so that they always enjoy learning. We have been very happy with the program.”

Whether your family is moving or traveling, your local school is not meeting your child’s needs, or you wish to play a more active role in your child’s education, Laurel Springs gives you the peace of mind and support of an accredited private school.
Elementary School, Grades K-5
The early years are a time for exploration, emotional growth, physical development, and fun. Laurel Springs students can enroll in grades or courses matched to their level of proficiency. In elementary school, we nurture the natural love of learning with caring teachers and stimulating curriculum. Our project-based elementary curriculum integrates classic literary themes across all subject areas. This approach gives homeschool families the best of both worlds: parents are fully supported with teachers and curriculum, yet they can choose projects that take advantage of resources available at home or in the local community. Laurel Springs students emerge from the K-5 program with the learning skills necessary to handle more challenging middle school work.
Middle School, Grades 6-8
As students progress into their middle school years, our college prep program builds self-esteem and lays the groundwork for high school. All middle school courses include a comprehensive syllabus (curriculum guide) with suggestions for engaging projects and assignments. This is the time in a young person’s life when inspiration and motivation are keys to success. Our textbook-based and online courses can be combined as needed to create an optimal learning experience. Laurel Springs offers opportunities for students to participate in our Gifted & Talented Academy starting in 6th grade. In addition, beginning in 7th grade, students are eligible to join our online social network and clubs.
The middle school counselor plays a key role in keeping students focused and on track toward academic success. Counselors address the academic, personal and social needs of the students, promote programs that engage and support students, collaborate with the student’s teachers, write recommendation letters, and help students and families prepare for high school. In this way, the counselor builds a relationship throughout middle school to help bridge the transition to high school that may be difficult for some students.
The Laurel Springs Link Crew is a mentoring program linking eighth grade and high school students together to provide a network of support for eighth grade students. Eighth grade students are assigned a mentor based upon their specific goals and needs. Mentors provide support, guidance, assistance and friendship, which helps eighth grade students as they prepare for their transition to high school. Link Crew members have the opportunity to create a collaborative newsletter that focuses on the eighth grade experience at Laurel Springs School. Students feel a sense of involvement and community, and share their skills in art and writing.
Our middle school program offers students the option to accelerate and prepare for the rigor of high school. This program strives to provide personal, social and academic support to all middle school families through the enhancement of student, parent and school personnel connections, and increased opportunities for student socialization and parental support networking. Students can take a high school level course and earn credit that applies toward their high school graduation. At the onset of their high school experience, they receive academic and college guidance from a counselor to ensure they are on track to achieve their post-secondary goals. The middle school program allows high school-level course credit based upon academic need, and club admission. In their last year of middle school, students also receive a high school academic plan.
