About eleven years ago I started playing golf; however, not until prior to my freshman year of high school did I realize what it would take to reach my goals and dreams in this great game. Around that time I started competing at higher levels and even played at the local high school that I attended my freshman year.
During my attendance at a public high school, which was my first time in public school, I found that I needed something different. The school was not helping me in any way to achieve athletic or academic success. This is when I came across Laurel Springs School while surfing the web for a new way of education other than schooling where a GED is awarded for graduation.
Since I have been enrolled in Laurel Springs, I have been able to achieve many successes in golf, along with academic successes. Laurel Springs has allowed me to travel to Phoenix, Arizona, where I have recently finished ninth in an event, and am able to work with my swing coach on a regular basis. It has also allowed me to work with my mental coach as needed. Although, this has been the biggest help, Laurel Springs has also allowed me to travel to golf events in different parts of the country.
As I mentioned I have also been able to achieve academic successes while enrolled in Laurel Springs. Some of those successes have been admittance in to the National Society of High School Scholars, a society done by the Nobel family for excellence in academics. I have also received an All-State Academic Letter in golf from the NIAA (Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association), every golf season for the public school that I play for, and I have also had multiple acceptances into Who's Who Among American High School Students.
Beyond the successes that Laurel Springs has helped me achieve. The most important thing is that through the good and bad times of my golf, Laurel Springs gives me a flexible and realistic academic schedule to work toward my dreams and goals in golf, and hopes of playing professional golf sometime in the near future. I am very thankful for the opportunities I will have and will have had because of Laurel Springs, and know that they will mean even more in the future.
