Where would I be without Patriycya Foley (aka Pausha)? For all of you who send in your pictures and want us to feature you in "Students In The News," it can"t be done unless I get Pausha to either scan them or resize them for the website. She"s the first person I contact to help me. She"s as helpful as she is beautiful.
Pausha works with Jill W., who says: "Pausha has been working with me in the Image and Design Department for over two years now. In her images and work, she has captured and carried on the beauty and inspiration that is Laurel Springs. She is dedicated, works hard and is a friend. I couldn"t have a better partner to work with, and enjoy her every day!"
Kelly L., Head of our IT Department, who is fairly new to LSS, is appreciative of Pausha"s talents saying: "I've had the pleasure of working with Pausha on several projects for nearly a year. She is extremely talented. Pausha can take ideas from a meeting and produce a work of art. In addition to her impressive skills, Pausha is a genuinely nice person. She is very upbeat and fun to be around."
Even Tom E., our Director of Administration, had to say a few words about her. "Pausha's great creative flair has enhanced all of our printed materials and websites. She is a valued team member!"
"Pausha arrived in America six years ago, to serve a Zen Buddhist teacher and achieve a great spiritual awakening. She stayed for a year in Santa Barbara, busy with a wide variety of tasks - from walking said teacher's dogs to working in the office of a non-profit organization, the "Peacemaker Community", helping in organizing events and learning the inner-workings of running their office.
After completing the year, she was assigned to going back to Poland and help in opening the Polish division of "Peacemaker Community." Having a job and an apartment waiting for her in Poland, she fell in love, got engaged (all within 3 weeks) and decided to move to America permanently, which she did eight months later.
After coming to Ojai and realizing the great opportunity of "starting her life all over again" Pausha decided to forget about her degree in clinical psychology and pursue her artistic inclinations instead.
Having always been lucky when it came to finding good people to work with and for - Pausha found a position in Laurel Springs School two years ago, and started on the road to graphic design mastery, with a special emphasis on Photoshop uses in creating digital art."
So when you see the creative artwork and graphics in our materials and on the LSS website, it"s safe to assume Pausha had a hand in making the vision come true. We"re happy and lucky to have such a gentle, artistic soul on our team.
