Laurel Springs Student Video Testimonials
Testimonials"Laurel Springs continues to be a fantastic schooling program for me. Not only has it given me the flexibility I have needed to pursue a pro tennis career, but I am getting a great education and am on track to graduate meeting all of my college entrance requirements. If I decide to go to college, I'll be prepared and it's good to know that I will always have that as an option."
"Training at an elite level in any sport is very demanding -- not only on an athlete's body and mind but on their time as well.
When I began to realize that my skating was expanding from a hobby into a career, my hours spent on the ice increased accordingly -- and
my availability to attend a standard school became less and less. A decision was made between my family and me that if I were to continue
skating I would have to find a balance between my athletic and academic careers that did not compromise one for the other.
After exploring every option we were aware of, we were left even more frustrated and with no solution in sight.
That was when I first heard about Laurel Springs through a fellow skater. My initial reaction was that this must be too
good to be true: a school that I could actually mold around my own schedule so that I could reach my full potential in both
aspects of my life. Laurel Springs has offered me the flexibility and support necessary for me to be awarded the marks I deserve
on and off the ice. If you find yourself in a similar situation, I encourage you to please look into becoming a part of the
Laurel Springs family. I truly believe it can make the same difference for you that it did for me!"
- Tanith Belbin
“I want to thank you for everything you have done for me and for putting up such a great school program. It has given me the best opportunity to develop as a student and as a person. I received a letter from the University of Pennsylvania stating that I have been accepted to the Wharton Business School. My whole family is thrilled and we want to thank you for participating in this life transition. You can now take pride in putting yet another Laurel Springs student into an Ivy League education! Thanks again for everything.”
- Maria Anisimova
“My teachers were the highlight of my experience with Laurel Springs. Even though I found some of the course material frustrating, they were always there, willing to work with me to find a better way to approach my lessons, sometimes even working with me to redesign them so they better suited my needs.”
- Morgan Bate

- Carla Tamborini
“Joining Laurel Springs School was the best decision I ever made. This school gave me the academic challenges and flexible schedule for ballet that I just couldn’t get in a traditional school. I was able to expand my ballet training and reach levels I never knew I could reach. Laurel Springs has given me the confidence I need to succeed both academically and in ballet. I feel that I am ready to go do anything in the world, knowing I have a great education.”

“I’ve attended Laurel Springs School throughout my high school years. I always knew my schooling was different from my public school counterparts, but I have come to realize that my experience these last four years is really unique, from doing social studies in pajamas to attending community college classes since my freshman year. LSS has put me in charge of my learning, yet surrounded me with excellent teachers and staff who truly care about my future.”
- Amy Lynn
“I think Laurel Springs School helped me become a more mature individual. I think it is very important to learn at your own pace, and through Laurel Springs I was able to do so. Laurel Springs has really great courses that are educational as well as creative.”
- Emmanuel Morales
“If it wasn’t for Laurel Springs’online program, I don’t think I would have done as well as I did in high school. The learning styles profiles assessment my family and I took before I started with LSS helped us to understand how learning and teaching styles played a significant role in how I learned and the best way for my family to teach me. My online teacher, Dawn Belden-Boughey, was always available to my family when we had questions. I liked the way she enjoyed my answers and responded to the comments I made after each lesson. Thank you, Mrs. Belden. The things I liked best about LSS are that I was able to learn at my own speed, to include subject matters I was interested in and to get the credits I needed. The freedom to choose and the support I received allowed me to have a very good high school experience. Thank you, Laurel Springs.”
- Charles W. Goesel

“I was homeschooled all my life; so was my brother. We were raised on eclectic curricula until high school, at which point our parents lost confidence. Thus, the struggle for a suitable alternative began. We tried six different correspondence schools. None of them was quite right until we stumbled upon Laurel Springs. We are really sorry about the wasted years with other schools. Thank you for a positive experience!”
- Julianna Sara Hedberg

“Laurel Springs allowed me to work at my own, often spastic, pace. I had great teachers, and appreciated the feedback they gave me. I will always think back fondly on Laurel Springs because through them I was able to eliminate the middleman of the educational system. Sitting back at the end of a semester and realizing you just taught yourself 18 weeks worth of work is very liberating.”
- Camille Shapiro
“Laurel Springs has helped me grow and learn as a persona as well as a student. The flexibility of my schedule with Laurel Springs allowed me to improve my skating to a level I never could have reached otherwise. I was also able to actually learn the material covered in each course while working at my own pace. Choosing Laurel Springs has led me to many incredible opportunities that would not have been open to me otherwise.”

“I spent two years at LSS and received more from the program than I had hoped. In addition to broad creative coursework, I was able to have time to learn two instruments, two languages, and to take an active part in my local elementary school. I completed my final three years of high school in two. But most importantly, I was able to learn about the things I like and who I want to be.”

“Laurel Springs changed the way I viewed school. I was not doing what I needed to do in a traditional high school. I knew I needed a change. Laurel Springs offered me the ability to work at my own pace, develop relationships with my teachers and bring both my grades and my interest in school up to a higher level. Laurel Springs made me a better learner and better student. LSS is not for everyone. It requires self-motivation and an interest in educational success. But it worked for me and I’m proud to say I am an LSS graduate.”
