National Honor Society 2007 Induction Ceremony
Laurel Springs School held its inaugural National Honor Society Induction Ceremony on Saturday, June 23, at the beautiful Crowne Plaza Hotel in Ventura, California. More than 20 students from all over the country were inducted and honored for their outstanding academic achievement, strong personal character, leadership abilities and selfless service to their communities. The ceremony included an emotionally powerful performance of the national anthem by inductee Diandra Newlin, and an inspiring welcome address by Laurel Springs Executive Director Marilyn Mosley Gordanier. Each student participated in a candle-lighting ceremony, establishing a new tradition as the first group of students to be inducted into the Laurel Springs Chapter of the National Honor Society.

The inductees were recognized individually for their commitment and given their membership card, a National Honor Society membership pin and a certificate to commemorate the evening's memorable event. Family and friends enjoyed the opportunity to celebrate the young NHS members and hear about the volunteer work they are doing in diverse areas including medical, environmental and educational service. In the words of one faculty advisor, "I'm so proud of these students. Being a part of this chapter is an inspiration to live a more purposeful life. It's a wonderful demonstration of our school's highest ideals."
