Learning Style Model School

We are pleased to announce that Laurel Springs School has been certified by the Learning-Success™ Institute as a Learning Style Model School™! What does this mean?

A Learning Style Model School:

  • follows the Learning Style Model of Education that has been developed by Victoria Kindle Hodson and Mariaemma Willis and is described in their book, Discover Your Child's Learning Style.

  • is dedicated to honoring, supporting, and encouraging each student's individual learning style by: assessing students with the Learning Styles Profile, encouraging teaching techniques based on profile results, providing customized curriculum options for all learning styles, training teachers to be Learning-Success™ Coaches, providing a Learning Styles Course for parents and students

  • believes that: each child is unique and gifted in a special way; there are many ways to learn; the student, parents, and teachers make up a learning "team;" quality education involves mentoring and coaching; all students can be coached for Learning-Success™

  • respects the fact that each student is ready to learn different things at different times and at different rates.

  • distinguishes between skills and content learning and involves students in the goal setting and evaluation / grading process.

  • understands that the goal of education is to help students discover and develop their interests, talents, and natural gifts, and to teach the skills needed to become self-directed adults who are confident about their life directions and / or career paths.
